Basic balaclava Crochet pattern 



This pattern is for an oversized balaclava which is basic and easy for beginners, it is worked with half double crochet throughout and joined with a sl stitch then bordered with a reversed single crochet, quick an easy to make with no skills required.

40/44 cm

10 cm: 12 sts/10 rows

Materials
Medium worsted yarn (4)
2 balls green khaki

 

Abbreviations
ch: chain
st: stitch
stitches: stitches
dc: double crochet
sc: single crochet
hdc: half double crochet
sl st: slip stitch

Written Pattern
Ch 90
Join the 2 ends with a sl st.
Round 1: ch 2, hdc in every ch, join with a sl st to the top 1st hdc.
Round 2 to 20: ch2, hdc in every st, join.
Fasten off after round 20
Place st marker in any st, count 18 st, place the 2nd st marker( to mark the face opening), start working on the st after the st marker.
Round 21, join the yarn, ch1, hdc in every st till you get to the next st marker.
Round 22 to 40: working back and fourth, ch2, hdc in every st.
Hold the 2 ends inside out and sl St in every st to close the top head. Fasten off.

From any opening of the opening of the balaclava, join the yarn, ch1, work sc in every st backwards ( reversed sc) in the rounds till you get back to the starting point. Fasten off.
