Crochet hook: 5.5 mm / 6mm

ch: chain

hdc: half double crochet

Note

For smaller size, reduce the flat circle to 5 rounds and increase to 7 rounds for larger size. The same is for shaping the beanie, you reduce/ add a round accordingly.

Ch3.

Round 1: 10 hdc in 3rd ch from the hook, join with a sl st.

Round 2: ch1, 2 hdc in every st, join.

Round 3: ch1, 2 hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next st, repeat ( 2 hdc in next st, 1hdc in next st), join.

Round 4: ch1, 2hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, repeat ( 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts), join.

Round 5: ch1, 2hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts, repeat ( 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts), join.

Shaping the beanie 

Round 7 to 18: ch1, hdc in every st, join. Fasten off.
